Photo Friday: Our top 5 “hearts, hugs & kisses” photos!

Welcome to Photo Friday! Each Friday, we share photo collections of our favourite shots from our sponsor sites around the world.

It’s nearly Valentine’s Day! The origins of this special holiday known for love and affection has drawn from many influences. In the Catholic church, St. Valentine is the patron saint of love, young people, and happy marriages.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day and St. Valentine, we’re sharing our top 5 “hearts, hugs, & kisses” photos from our sites! These adorable moments between family, friends, and children at our sponsor sites are sure to warm your heart and bring a smile to your face.

#5: Big hearts

These adorable little ones from our Chiclayo site in Peru are arranged in a very special formation to show their love for their sponsors and the support they receive from the site! They are also gathered for an exciting reason. They’ve illustrated a children’s book together, created especially for Chalice!

#4: Showing mom love

Madeline is a hard working mother of five from our Haiti North site. Thanks to kind donations from Canadian students, she was able to build a house of her own for her and her children! Her adoring son shows that one is never too old to show mom a little love with a kiss on the cheek.

#3: Thanks for so much love

On a mission trip to our Guadalupe site in Bolivia, children and families eagerly greeted site staff and volunteers who travelled so far to meet them. Many children put so much effort into creating beautiful signs and decorations to show their love and appreciation for their treasured visitors!

#2: Whispering a secret

This mother from our Nellore site in India is excited to be attending her graduation ceremony for Skills @ Chalice, a program that gives women and mothers a chance to learn marketable skills such as sewing, electrical work, and computer programming. Her son seems to be whispering something sweet and encouraging to her!

#1: Keeping close to Sister

This little boy from our CMAVIL site in Paraguay is showing his affection for Sister Graciella, the site director at the time of our 2019 mission trip! It’s important for children to feel comfortable and safe with the Sisters and staff that care for them. It’s heartwarming to see such a genuine and loving connection!

Follow Chalice on Facebook and Instagram for daily updates from our sponsor sites, impact stories, and more! Be sure to check back next week for another Photo Friday.
