Lakshmi lives with his parents and his two brothers in a one-room cement structure in Nellore, India. He is in grade three at the government school and his best subject is his native language, Telugu. His favourite activity is drawing pictures. Lakshmi has cerebral palsy and faces learning challenges. His father is a daily-wage labourer who is unable to find steady employment. At the Nellore Sponsor Site, the Sisters of the Cross of Chavanod assist people living with HIV/AIDS, those with special needs, those who have dropped out of school, and people from tribal communities. The Sisters strive to provide a high quality education and access to programs that address special needs.
